In this section are some images of exhibitions that have particularly mattered to me.

Amidst which, Change of Signature, an enthralling adventure (see Installations > Change of Signature). After the show in Testbed1-London, a 3000m2 former Victorian diary factory transformed in creative hub by architect Will Aslop (recently demolished to construct luxury flats!!…), Ramuntcho Matta offered me to show the project in the window of his gallery sometimeStudio. The challenge was the dramatic change of scale to fit the 2m20 x 1m80 space. I made a window dressing by covering the walls with large photos of the London exhibition and created an intimate “listening-looking salon”, visible from the street. At night it just looked magical. Ramuntcho later offered the use of the whole gallery and an impromptu opening where friends, artists and musicians kindly joined in.

In 2019, artist Hynek Martinec organised a show at ASC Brixton gallery, on a theme dear to him and in tune with my work of the time: Vanitas. The exhibition included works by Hynek, Ben Ashton and Edward Sutcliffe, and created a particularly significant dialogue between our works on the theme of the ephemeral nature of human condition.

In 2020, Claudine Pellé offered me to participate to the 12th ed. of De ses battements d’elles – a series of artistic events for the support and circulation of feminines singular writings. In the midst of the heath crisis the show had to be postponed and took place in November 2021 at the Couvent St Césaire, in Arles. In this context where the notion of writing was central and the show was focused on the works from the book Enlacés […] un discours autour, I decided to give the writings the same status as the photographs, and hung enlarged banners of texts on the walls, lit up by reading lamps. I also conceived a smaller installation in the show, about one of the texts of the book which evoked the words of ultimate freedom of my uncle Roger Pironneau, a young member of the French resistance, imprisoned and shot in 1942.

EP
